APSEA's 2006 Holiday Mixer was a Huge Success!
In appreciation of all of its members and to herald in the
holidays with a bang, the Asian Pacific State Employees
Association (APSEA) held their annual Holiday Mixer on November
30, 2006. A diverse crowd of over 100 Asian American state
employees gathered together celebrate the holidays and widen
their community networks.
The Mixer was a great opportunity for many
APSEA members to meet and network with their fellow state
employees. Although there were many familiar faces, many
new faces were also seen participating in the festivities.
Attendees included both past and current
government employees, including many elected and high
ranking state officials as well as APSEA supporters. These
include Melanie Ramil representing Assemblymember Dave
Jones; Bill Wong, Chief of Staff, representing Assemblymember Judy Chu;
Sylvia Tang representing Board of Equalization Member
Betty Lee; Cortez Quinn representing County Supervisor
Roger Dickinson; Maeley Tom, Board Member, State Personnel
Board and CalPERS Board; Genevieve Shiroma, SMUD Board; Raynor Tsuneyoshi, Director Boating & Waterways; Will
Semmes, Director Cal. Conservation Corp; Selvi Stanislaus,
Executive Director Franchise Tax Board; Floyd Shimomra,

of Motor Vehicles; Lorna Fong, Assistant to Secretary of
Health & Human Services Agency; Tom Hoffman, Director of
Division of Adult Parole Programs; Timothy Hsu, Financing
Risk Manager, Cal Housing Finance Agency; Susie Wong,
Deputy, Dept. of Corporations; Lillian Shek, Member of the
Public Employment Relations Board; Linda Ng, Fair
Employment & Housing Commission; Alex Eng, Sacramento
